The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m., Tuesday, when the unidentified 32-year-old woman was hit by a 72-year-old Haverstraw woman as she attempted to cross the roadway, said Officer Peter Walker. Traffic Alert Issued For Mahwah, Ramapo Motorists planning on traveling through Ramapo near Mahwah may experience heavy delays on Friday as contracting crews complete roadwork in the area. The Ramapo Police Department issued an alert warning that a major repaving project is taking place in the area of Spring Valley Road and Summit Avenue in Montvale, N.J., near the town line. The project has been scheduled from 7 a.m. to approximately 5 p.m. on Friday. Police said that heavy traffic delays are expected and may affect the Chestnut Ridge Area.
