Update: State Police Identify Victim In Suspected Newburgh Slaying

New York State Police have identified the body found in a Quaker Street home in Newburgh.

William K. McMahon, 50, lived in the home on Quaker Street. He was last seen alive in April of 2017 and reported missing to the state police in June of 2017, Troopers said.

State Police, along with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Orange County Medical Examiner and the Plattekill Fire Department led to the recovery of McMahon's remains. 

It also led to the arrest of Christopher Smith, 43, of Wallkill. Smith was charged second-degree murder on Tuesday and is being held without bail in Orange County Jail.
