Residents of Franklin Heights told police the items disappeared in September, Police Chief James N Batelli said Monday.

Detective Michael Grassi and Officer Christopher Fasulo set up surveillance in the area and confronted Deanna Franklin, 31, along with two companions -- identified as Peter Sanagorski, 36, of Wayne, and Carmen Cosentino, 35, of Woodland Park -- who'd driven her to the residence, the chief said.

As the officers approached the car, an occupant began throwing bags of cocaine out the window, Batelli said.

A search of the vehicle turned up more cocaine, along with heroin, Oxycodone, suboxone and amphetamines -- as well as some of the jewelry that was reported stolen, the chief said.

Franklin "admitted to stealing cash from the residence but not the jewelry," he said.

She was charged with theft and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Sanagorski was charged with hindering and possession of drugs and paraphernalia. Cosentino was charged with the same possession offenses.

All were released on summonses to appear Oct. 14 in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.

An investigation was continuing.
