Joshua Elkins, 32, had sex with the girl in Mahwah and in a Paramus hotel room, authorities said when detectives had him arrested in his Fort Wayne hometown in January 2013. He was extradited two months later and remained held on $200,000 bail Friday in the Bergen County Jail.

Elkins drove the 10 hours to New Jersey after meeting the girl in a Russian roulette-styled chat room that allows users to spin through various images of others, authorities said at the time.

A classmate reported the liaisons to Mahwah school officials, they said.

The 14-count indictment charges Elkins with exchanging oral sex with the girl, who is now 19, among other illegal acts.

Charges also include impairing the morals of a minor as well obstruction-related offenses.

One involves hindering apprehension, prosecution, conviction or punishment "by means of force or intimidation" against the girl and the other of forcing her to withhold or provide false information.
