The building was evacuated and two people were transported to the hospital for minor throat irritation, said Ramapo Police.

The Hillburn Fire Department along with the Rockland County and Mahwah Hazmat teams are on the scene assessing the situation. The Suffern Fire Department also rushed to the scene. Rockland Paramedics and Ramapo Valley Ambulance Corps are on standby as well, police said.

Currently, Route 59 remains open as this spill appears to be contained within the confines of the building, police added.
