Mason Jar In Mahwah Competes In DVlicious Brunch Contest For Best In Bergen

MAHWAH, N.J. -- Whether it’s a special occasion or simply a lazy Sunday, nothing beats the prized weekend ritual known as brunch. Where else, after all, can you pair gooey pastries and towering Benedicts with endless flutes of mimosas?

Why Go: Don’t let the fact that the Mason Jar’s local fame as a barbecue joint and sports bar deter you. Those in the know say its Sunday buffet brunch puts places with classier pretensions to shame.

Worth Waking Up For: The dozens of food and dessert items to choose from, including: breakfast pizza, peel and eat shrimp, smoked salmon, antipasto, and grilled veggies, in addition to the usual bacon, sausages, French toast, and waffles. They also have carving, pasta, and omelette stations.

When: Sundays, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (Septembers through Father’s Day in June) 

Prix fixe?: Yes, $24.95 for adults; $13.95 for kids five to 12, free for those under five.
