MAHWAH, N.J. – A corporation with major branches in Mahwah and Allendale was just named to PEOPLE Magazine’s inaugural list of “50 Companies that Care in America.”
Stryker develops and produces orthopedic, medical and surgical products to help improve patient outcomes. While the company’s global headquarters is in Michigan, Stryker Orthopedics is based in Mahwah, and Stryker Spine is based in Allendale.
Stryker was recognized because employees are “given opportunities to give back to the global community by using their professional expertise through mission trips and work with Operation Smile,” according to an article on People.com .
Operation Smile provides free surgery to children suffering from cleft lips and paletes.
People’s list features 50 companies “that show extraordinary compassion for their employees, their communities and the environment as well as being military friendly and embracing diversity,” according to the article.
The rankings are based on surveys of roughly 368,000 employees at almost 1,000 companies throughout the country. Stryker came in at number 45 on the list.
