The facility would be located on MacArthur Boulevard in the empty lot next to the New York Stock Exchange Data Center, according to Planning Board President Todd Sherer.

The application was presented by Boldt Healthcare Properties LLC, a midwestern construction firm who will be building their first New Jersey facility in Mahwah.

Mahwah Mayor Bill Laforet said the new facility will provide an economic boost for the town.

"Mahwah has been for a long time a great business partner," Laforet told Daily Voice. "Here is another company voting in a positive way to come to Mahwah."

The company plans on building a facility complete with swimming pools, a running track, gymnasium, free weights, conference rooms, and classrooms. There will also be health specialists on hand, including physical therapists and nutritionists according to Sherer.

Boldt plans plans on partnering with a hospital so the facility can provide urgent care, on site doctors, cardiac rehabilitation and a pharmacy, Laforet said

"It brings a real crown jewel to our town," Laforet said.

Boldt had a very strong application and should have no issue gaining approval from the Bergen County Planning Board, according to Sherer.
