Mahwah, Ramsey 'Girls On The Run' Teams Have Open Spots

An international empowerment and after-school running program for girls in 3rd through 5th grades will begin at several sites in Bergen and Passaic counties on March 7.

Girls on the Run — a 10-12 week program — is designed to help girls recognize their inner strength with the final goal of running a 5K. 

The curriculum encourages positive emotional, social, mental and physical development, in which girls explore their beliefs and experiences.

The following sites still have openings on their teams:

Cresskill

Merriott Memorial School: Tuesday and Thursday 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Edward H. Bryan School: Tuesday and Thursday 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Ramsey/Mahwah

Fardale Trinity Church:Tuesday and Thursday 5-6:30 pm

Fardale Trinity Church: Tuesday and Thursday 4-5:30 pm

Lutheran Church of the Redeemer: Wednesday 6 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 to 10 a.m.

Ridgewood

Ridge School: Monday and Friday 3:15 to 4:45 p.m.

Glen Rock

Central School: Monday and Tuesday 3:45 to 5:15 p.m.

Saddle River

Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church: Monday and Wednesday 4:30 to 6 p.m. 

Ringwood

EG Hewitt Intermediate School: Monday and Wednesday 3:30 to 5 p.m.

West Milford

West Milford Presbyterian Church: Monday and Thursday 4 to 5:30 p.m. 

Maple Road School: Monday and Wednesday 4 to 5:30 p.m.
