RAMSEY, N.J. — The U.S. Department of Education has named The Academy of St. Paul in Ramsey a National Blue Ribbon School.
The Catholic elementary school on Wyckoff Avenue is among 285 public and 50 private schools nationwide to be recognized this year.
"This honor recognizes your students' accomplishments and the hard work and dedication that went into their success," U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said in a video message to the awardees.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors schools where students either achieve very high learning standards or are making notable improvements in closing the achievement gap.
St. Paul’s was recognized as an exemplary high performing school for being among the state’s highest performing schools as measured by state assessments.
