RAMSEY, N.J. -- The Ramsey Borough Clerk's office will remain open until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, for voter registration, including address changes. This is the last day to register, in order to vote in the June primary election.
The office is otherwise open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
If you have recently moved to Ramsey from another town in Bergen County, or you moved within the borough to a new address, that requires a change of address. If you've moved from another state or from outside Bergen County, that requires a new voter registration.
You can pre-print and fill out a registration form here, or you can complete a form in the clerk's office. You can mail it, but that risks missing the deadline -- so the clerk's office recommends hand-delivering it at this point.
New Jersey is a closed primary state, which means you can only vote for the party you're registered for, unless you're registered as "unaffiliated." The deadline for switching your party affiliation has already passed: it was April 13.
The primary election is Tuesday, June 7. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. You'll receive a sample ballot in the mail about a week before the election, which will indicate your polling location. If you have any questions or would like to confirm your current voter registration, call 201-825-3400, ext. 221.
