UPDATE: A tractor-trailer driver sustained minor injuries but area traffic was backed up well past dark after a tractor-trailer loaded with spools of copper wire tipped on Route 287 at the New York state line flyover in Mahwah yesterday.
Mahwah police, firefighters and EMS workers responded to the crash around 5:30 p.m. outside the Sheraton Crossroads.
One responder estimated the truck had 17 tons of copper wire that was off-loaded to a flatbed trailer.
