Mario Delsaz, 24, and Brian Torres, 19, both of the Bronx, followed the Franklin Street family from the Westchester County casino before surprising them just after 4:30 a.m. July 2, authorities said.

"They didn't hurt them, but they threatened harm with handguns shown," Capt. John Trainor initially told Daily Voice hours after the driveway holdup. "They took not only what they won at the casino but also their wallets and a backpack.

"It was at least $3,000."

The pair are also suspected in several other armed robberies of Empire City Casino patrons over the course of several days in early July, Capt. Michael deMoncada said Tuesday.

Tenafly police worked closely with Empire City Casino security and detectives from Yonkers, the NYPD, the Port Authority and the Bergen Prosecutor's Office, deMoncada said.

They "were able to develop several leads after viewing hours of security video footage provided by Empire City Casino security personnel," he said.

Charged with armed robbery in Tenafly, both Delsaz and Torres remained in custody in New York pending extradition proceedings, deMoncada said.
