SHOUT OUT: A Ramsey-based independent film company is partnering with the New Milford School District for a unique fundraiser to support renovations to the high school auditorium.

Feenix Fillms will hold an audience test of its anti-drug police thriller “Clandestine,” much of which was filed at the high school, on Saturday (June 27) at 7:15 p.m.

All proceeds from each $10 ticket will go to help finance ongoing upgrades to the auditorium.

Feenix Films is “returning the support New Milford schools gave us during filming,” said the director, company President David LaRosa.

One of the scenes utilizes a classroom full of young students from town.

Two others feature Tom Sizemore — best known for his roles in “Saving Private Ryan,” “Blackhawk Down” and “Heat,” among others — in the superintendent’s office and in the auditorium before it was renovated.

Schools Supt. Michael Polizzi cited various reasons for promoting the film.

“First, we believe in the film’s anti-drug message,” he said. “[It] is unrelenting in examining all the casualties of the war on drugs.”

Then there is author Chris Ryan, a School Board member who co-produced and acted in the film — not to mention the dozens of young local extras.

“While the harsh subject matter and the adult themes and behaviors in the film clearly demonstrate this is not for children, I am proud our kids contributed to making this strong statement, and am proud of the parents who were committed to helping have this experience,” Polizzi said. “They all served the community.”

The audience test will include a post-film Q&A with cast and company members that is designed “to get feedback from people, which we will utilize when making our final adjustments to the movie,” said cast member and Feenix Films Vice-President Nick DeMatteo.
