Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Westwood Crash, Fatal Team Investigating

WESTWOOD, N.J. -- A pedestrian was seriously injured Saturday morning after being struck by a vehicle driven by an elderly motorist outside Westwood Cemetery on Kinderkamack Road, police told Daily Voice.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Fatal Accident Investigations Unit was investigating the crash, reported at 9:05 a.m. near the corner of Lester Avenue, Lt. Matthew McClutchy said.

The victim was taken to nearby HackensackUMC at Pascack Valley for what was believed to be air transport by AirMed One to Hackensack University Medical Center.

Responders said he had head and spleen injuries and was bleeding from his abdomen.

Kinderkamack Road remained closed for more than two hours from the Stop & Shop shopping center to Old Hook Road as authorities collected evidence and interviewed witnesses.
