MAHWAH, N.J. -- Mahwah detectives arrested a township ex-con who they said was selling cocaine from his house "on a regular basis" following a raid.
Charles Bleasby, 52, was ordered held on $50,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with distributing cocaine, among other drug-related offenses, Police Chief James Batelli said.
Police also charged him with illegally having a gun despite being a convicted felon, the chief said.
Detectives seized two ounces of cocaine, some crack, assorted other drugs and the weapon, he said.
During the investigation, detectives also arrested 41-year-old Freddy A. Fernandez Baez of the Bronx on money laundering charges. They seized $6,000 "believed to be derived from criminal activity" from him, which Batelli said will become the target of civil forfeiture proceedings.
