The event is being organized by "Special Angels," an organization that provides sport and leisure activities for special needs children in North Jersey.
"It will be a wonderful evening," said Debbie Wertalik, a Lyndhurst grandmother who started the organization 11 years ago with her daughter, Tara Banuls. "The Lyndhurst Police are amazing and make the kids feel special."
There will be ceremonies for several Special Angels at the event, including Jhon Gallego, a multiply disabled Lyndhurst teenager who is battling stage four cancer for the second time. Two Special Angels will also receive the Jimmy Giurland scholarship, in honor of the late Special Angels coach.
At halftime, special needs competitive cheerleaders "The Sparks" will perform. At the end of the game, all the Special Angels who competed will receive trophies.
"It is a night of inspiration and kids living their dreams," Wertalik said.
"Shoot For The Stars" begins at 6:30 p.m. at Lyndhurst High School.
