PHOTO: A jackknifed tractor-trailer on the northbound Route 287 bridge over Route 17 in Mahwah closed the highway at Exit 66 just after 8 a.m. this morning. It wasn’t expected to reopen until at least 9:30 a.m.
Traffic was being detoured onto the southbound highway and Route 17 south.
State Department of Transportation salt trucks were requested.
“The roadways are extremely slippery,” Mahwah Police Chief James Batelli said, noting that other vehicles have slid off the highway.
No injuries were reported.
