The firefighters were cleaning up a gasoline spill from a ruptured tank when a taxi pulled up and the driver said he had a woman in the backseat in labor.

Three firefighters were able to get the woman out of the car and on the ground, while providing privacy with their trucks. She delivered a healthy baby boy.

Chief Kenny Sohlman, SV Hook & Ladder 2nd Lt. Jason Dennison and Rockland Hook & Ladder Chauffeur Eric Mann directed the effort while firefighter/EMT Avi Genuth checked out the mother and baby and care was provided until EMS showed up.
