Services Set For Wyckoff Firefighter Killed In Route 80 Jeep Crash

WYCKOFF, N.J. — Shane Myer, 21 of Midland Park, died tragically on Tuesday, when his jeep rolled in a Route 80 crash. He was a member of the Wyckoff Fire Department Protection Co. #1 and a graduate of Ramapo High School.

He lived in Wyckoff before moving to Midland Park.

Myer was a Diesel Mechanic for Hoover Truck and Bus Center in Flanders, and just recently earned his CDL. 

He is survived by his parents, Eugene Myer of Midland Park, and Janet Myer of Wyckoff; his brother, Brandon; his grandparents Jack and Joan Myer of Wantage and Louis and Mary Infuso of Northvale; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation is on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m., at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff.

Funeral services will be Monday, at 10:30 a.m., at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery.
