Roller died peacefully the day after Christmas, her family by her side. She was 64.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Roller, whom she met at Pascack Hills High School and married in 1977; her sons, Rich and Scott (fiance: Samantha Neubeck); brother Gene Benzenberg and many others.

"Sue and Rob were two of the first people that I met when I moved to Ramsey," Police Chief Bryan Gurney said. "She was a great friend and was dedicated to her family, friends and the entire community."

Roller joined the A&S team in 1980 and finished her corporate career as vice president of Visual Merchandising for Sterns in 2001. She went on to start her own dog grooming business, "Susie’s Pet Mobile," where she devoted her time to caring for the well-being of dogs.

Nearly $11,000 had been raised as of Sunday by a GoFundMe campaign launched by Clinton Lynch for the family.

"They say every good man has a strong women behind him, and that is so true of Sue and Rob," the page reads. "While Sue and Rob have lived their lives donating their efforts for the benefit of the community -- especially Ramsey school and sports activities -- it is now our time to repay the favor."

The funeral service will be private.
