MAHWAH, N.J. — Mahwah resident Lorraine Hamouz died Sunday, June 5. She was 84.
A graduate of Long Island City High School in Queens, N.Y. in 1950, Hamouz worked in the purchasing department of the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company corporate headquarters.
She later was employed by the Paramus Board of Education as an aide at Ridge Ranch Elementary School for many years.
Prior to retiring, she was store manager at the Hallmark Card Store in the Paramus Park Mall.
Hamouz is survived by her husband, Frank Hamouz; her son, Michael Hamouz and his wife, Kathy; her grandchild, Dakota Hamouz; her sister, Maryann Horsham; her niece, Nadine Sawicki and her nephews, Donald and Gregory Horsham.
Hamouz was predeceased by her son, Frank J. Hamouz.
The family will receive their relatives and friends from 1-3 and 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Orthodox Christian Church of Christ the Saviour, 365 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ 07652.
A funeral service is planned for 10 a.m. Friday 10 at the church. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Maspeth, N.Y.
Donations in Hamouz's memory may be made to the Orthodox Christian Church of Christ the Saviour.
