MAHWAH, N.J. -- John Robert O'Connor, a resident of Mahwah, died Saturday, Jan. 23. He was 85.
O'Connor was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked his entire career in corporate insurance, mostly with Liberty Mutual and finally at Marsh & McLennan as managing director.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Theresa (DiPierro) O’Connor; his children, Sharon Fairless (Jim), Maura Mann (Mel), Michael O’Connor (Dina), Lisa Mann (Billy), Beth DeSomma; 13 grandchildren, Frank, Melissa, Theresa, Robin, Michaela, John, Peyton, Bryant, Rob, Lauren, Dakota, Ryan and Joseph; and a sister, Maryann McGerity.
There will be a funeral service at noon Wednesday at Scarr Funeral Home Inc., Route 202, Suffern. Burial will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
