Doris R. Krech, 93, Formerly Of Ramsey

ALLENDALE, N.J. -- Doris R. Krech, of Allendale, died Wednesday, Nov. 23. She was 93.

Born July 20, 1923, in Hackensack, she was raised there. She resided in Ramsey for 25 years and in Allendale the past six years. 

Following graduation from Holy Trinity High School in Hackensack, she attended Wood Secretarial School in Manhattan. She was employed by the Holland Bulb Importing Co. in Manhattan, and then as a legal secretary in the Bendix Division of Honeywell Corp. in Teterboro for 40 years until her retirement in 1985. She also was the former president of the New Jersey Secretaries Association.

She was a former parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Church, Hackensack, and St. Paul RC Church in Ramsey. Throughout her life, she was passionate about the outdoors. She was an avid hiker, bowler, golfer, skier and ice skater. She and her beloved husband Ray were lifetime members of the Ski Club of New Jersey in Maywood. In her spare time, she also was an avid seamstress and quilter and a member of the Quilting Guild of Bergen County. 

She will be dearly missed by her sisters, and also by her nieces and nephews, of whom she included in many of her sporting activities, shopping adventures and trips to New York City.

She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Krech; parents, Frank V. and Jane Jerlinski (nee Jessee); and brother, Frank V. Jerlinski Jr. 

Survivors include her two sisters, Mary Jane Jakubowski and Ann MacMaster; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday at Laurel Grove Memorial Park Cemetery in Totowa.
