MAHWAH, N.J. – The Mahwah Township Council introduced an ordinance that would ban unregulated pipelines at its Dec. 17 meeting, according to NJ.com.
The decision comes after a Dec. 7 meeting when dozens of residents opposed building a stretch of the Pilgrim Pipeline through Mahwah.
Plans are to build parallel pipelines some 178 miles from Linden to Albany, N.Y., reported NJ.com.
Whether the proposed ban would hold up in court is unknown at this time.
