MAHWAH, N.J. -- If you are looking for an interesting and fun way to get involved with history and becoming a part of it, consider being a volunteer docent at the Mahwah Musem.

Docents work from 1-4 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays, and Wednesdays. Docents are volunteers who open the museum, make visitors feel welcome, answer questions and close the museum.

Docents are needed from mid-September through June when the museum is open and also from 2-4 p.m. Sundays from late June through mid-September, when the Old Station Museum and Caboose is open.

If you chosen as a volunteer, you will be trained and scheduled months in advance so you know when you are needed. Docents also can trade places with each other if emergencies arise so the museum and station always have a docent available.

Please e-mail director@mahwahmuseum.org or or call the museum at (201) 512-0099 if you are interested.
