“They have lost everything; house, cars and clothes. But what hurts the most is that insurance is not covering it,” Jamie Gonzalez wrote on a GoFundMe page he created to raise funds for his family in Houston.
Nearly $2,000 had been raised for his cousin Graciela Casanova-Ramos and her family by Wednesday afternoon. The funds received will go toward rebuilding their home, which had been under six feet of water, he wrote.
“Belonging(s) that are irreplaceable like family pictures are lost forever. But family bonds are strong and continue to become stronger,” he wrote. “And love from family and friends continue.”
