RAMSEY, N.J. — New York Times bestselling author Beatriz Williams will be at the Ramsey Public Library on Thurs., Nov. 12 to tell the tale of a rare car that became the engine of her latest novel, "Along the Infinite Sea."

A story about a 1936 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster once belonging to a German Baroness caught Williams' eye in a national newspaper in 2012.

The car that was auctioned off at $12 million in Greenwich, CT was the same one that Pepper Schuyler fixed up in "Along the Infinite Sea."

"It's wonderful biographical fiction but not something I could write, because my imagination always gets the better of me," said Williams, who lives in Lyme, Connecticut.

"Along the Infinite Sea" is the third in Williams' series about the three Schuyler sisters. The book picks up from the end of "Tiny Little Thing" in which Pepper Schuyler was part of the side plot in Christina "Tiny" Schuyler's story.

"The Secret Life of Violet" — the first in the series — zeroes in on the third Schuyler sister, Vivian.

Each has her own story, so you don't have to read one book to keep up with the others.

"...Infinite Sea," Williams says, "is really the most powerful of all three. I'm just excited for the big, brave, bittersweet, romantic book."
