MAHWAH, N.Y. -- The New York/New Jersey Trail Conference recently celebrated the formal opening of its headquarters at the historic Darlington Schoolhouse, as well as its 95th year in existence, according to a story on northjersey.com.
During that near century, the group has grown from a collection of hiking clubs in New York City to a 1,750-volunteer member organization that maintains more than 2,100 miles of trails, the story said.
The organization moved into the new headquarters, off Ramapo Valley Road at the edge of the Ramapo Valley County Reservation, in March after purchasing the property in 2007, the story said.
