MAHWAH, N.J. -- Tom Dunn will present "The Story of the Ramsey Journal" at the Mahwah Museum on Sunday, May 15.

Tom Dunn, former archive director of the museum, will discuss the history of the Ramsey Journal. John Dater II established the paper in 1892, bringing news to Northwest Bergen County.

"For 75 years, until the paper was sold in 1967, three generations of the Dater family chronicled the births, deaths and marriages, triumphs and defeats, trials and controversies of the communities it served," a news release noted. "During a period of time that spanned five wars, a great depression, and the rapid post-war suburbanization of Bergen County, the editors and publishers of the Ramsey Journal preserved the rich first draft of history of Ramsey, Mahwah, Allendale, Upper Saddle River, Saddle River and Waldwick."

Admission is free to museum members and with museum admission. To reserve a seat, email or call 201-512-0099. The presentation will begin at 1:15 p.m. The museum is located at 201 Franklin Turnpike, in Mahwah.

Annual membership dues are $15 per year per person, $10 for seniors and $25 for family membership. Click here for more information. For more information about the museum, visit its website, or follow it on Facebook or Twitter.
