MAHWAH, N.J. — A gallery talk about the Colonial and U.S. post offices in Mahwah takes place Sunday, Jan. 17 at the Mahwah Museum.
Dick Greene and Carol Wehran Greene, author of “Images of Mahwah" and “The Ramapough Chronicles,” will present the talk “Mail on the Move in Northwest Bergen,” an exhibit currently featured at the museum. Carol Greene is also Mahwah Township Historian and a member of the Mahwah Historical Preservation Committee.
The exhibit, curated by the Greenes, presents rare artifacts, such as an 18th century post rider’s saddle and mailbags, authentic Mahwah letters from 1800 to the 1900s, and brass post boxes from the former 1936 Finch Building post office.
